Регистрационный номер: PX203 [9] The Cierva W.9 at Thames Ditton in 1944. The members of the development and construction team posing in front of the protoype are not identified, but presumably include C G Pullin, J S Shapiro, Ken Watson and perhaps Ray Pullin.
The completed W.9 is outside the factory at Thames Ditton with what was most of the factory staff. The obscure location in a leafy suburb of Kingston-on-Thames does not seem to have been home to a large facility. We have never understood the reason it was built there instead of in a shed at Hanworth. -

Регистрационный номер: PX203 [9] Using jet thrust to compensate for torque, W-9 PX203 originally flew without a tail fin. Marsh crashed the W-9 while trying to fly it from the starboard seat but the helicopter had proved that the jet thrust anti-torque system was not as effective as a tail rotor.
